Seven times Eight equals 56...
Yes...56 days until Karen Vendsel weds David Norvell. And I still have 8 lbs. to lose to fit into a never-worn, yet "perfect for the occasion" two-piece evening dress and jacket. Tonight's Supper Club with my dear fellowship group set me backwards two giant steps....alas....will I ever learn it gets more difficult the older I get. Exercise...exercise...exercise...I must build more time into my schedule for routine walking.
Tomorrow morning I will basque in the delight of being "mother of the bride-elect" at Karen's first wedding shower. I must admit I love watching, sharing, and living these exciting moments with my daughter. Yes...I'm living my life vicariously through Karen (and Sarah) right now...I guess it's because I feel like I missed out on so much when I was younger. It's so rewarding and wonderful to watch them thrive! I feel the same for my son and his wife...what exciting, adventurous times for them as they dive into their graduate studies, plan their futures as counselors and professors, and trust God for their ultimate happiness and their future abode.
I am journaling in 2006! I'm writing my prayers and my conversations with God...it is so refreshing, and I like going back and reading what I wrote days and weeks earlier. There are some prayers that have been answered and others that are in a pending state. I'm also reading the One-Year Bible...I pray that I'll keep current with it.
Alas...it is late, and I'm tired, and my computer battery is growing dim. More blogging later...
Nighty-night to my readers.

Mom -
Rach and I are reading the One Year Bible, too. You should post some of your thoughts and reflections on here, and we can talk about them.
So far I've managed to stay on target in my Bible reading...Yes, I've missed a day here and there, but I stay current.
I love the story of Joseph and his brothers. I love Joseph's faith, his commitment to his work whether it is serving Pharoah or serving the prison keeper. And the love for his brothers even when they deceived him and hated him for his predicted stature among them!
I love Joseph's generosity; I love his obedience. I love how he remains focused no matter what his situation.
